About Dr. Hakan Polat

Dr. Hakan Polat was born on January 26, 1965 in Edirne. He completed his primary and secondary education at Namik Kemal Primary and Secondary School with top honors. He graduated from Ankara Science High School (1980-1982) and Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (1982-1989). He completed his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Erciyes University (1990-1994). Dr. Polat has extensive international training including clinical infertility at University of Oxford and University College London (1996), reproductive endocrinology at Cornell Medical Center New York (1998), genetic engineering and cloning at Utah USU (2000), stem cell culture at Wisconsin Wicell and Johns Hopkins University (2003-2005), and training at Royan Institute Iran (2006). He has served as Medical Director at multiple prestigious IVF centers: City Hospital IVF Center (1999-2006), Nisan IVF Center (2006-2008), Medicana International Hospital Ankara (2009), and Chief Physician at Ankalife IVF Center (2010-2015). He has been working at Polat Clinic since 2015. He served as R&D Director at Yasam Bankasi Cord Blood Center (2002-2021) and continues as GLG Council advisor since 2012. Dr. Polat received the TIVAK First Place Award in 2002 for his research on vessel-like structure formation from human embryonic stem cells. He has provided training in Assisted Reproductive Techniques and lectured on sexual development at TED Ankara College.
