He completed his orthodontics specialty training at the University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry in the UK from 2003 to 2007, earning an MMedSci degree. During this time, he worked at NHS Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in London. He then pursued a PhD at UCLA School of Dentistry in the USA, conducting research on the NFIL3/E4BP4 gene in bone metabolism.
Professional Career
After returning to Turkey, he served as a faculty member at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry for 4 years. He completed his military service at Gülhane Military Medical Academy as an orthodontics specialist. He founded and established the orthodontics clinic at Ankara Tepebaşı Oral and Dental Health Hospital, where he worked for 5 years. Later, he transferred to Istanbul Ataşehir Oral and Dental Health Hospital before resigning from public service.
Current Practice
Currently, Dr. Özkurt operates his private clinic in Akatlar, Beşiktaş, Istanbul. He is married to his colleague Hande Biçeroğlu, also a dentist. Working hours are Weekdays 08:00-19:00 and Saturday 10:00-19:00.
