Prof. Dr. Lutfi Tunc graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1994 and completed his Urology specialization at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine (1996-2001). In 2000, during his residency, he received theoretical and practical training in male infertility treatment at Istanbul Memorial Hospital Assisted Reproductive Technologies and Reproductive Endocrinology Center. He started working as a specialist at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine Urology Department in 2002. Between 2002 and 2011, he served as the responsible faculty member of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine IVF Unit Andrology Department. In 2003, he received laparoscopic surgery training at Southwestern University, Urology Clinic, Urological Laparoscopic Surgery Department in Dallas, USA. Dr. Lutfi Tunc, who specialized in Laparoscopy and Robotic Surgery, started laparoscopic surgery operations in urology (prostate cancer, kidney cancer, adrenal gland disease, bladder cancer, etc.) from 2003. In 2008, he started Closed Kidney Cancer Surgery with a method he developed himself (TUNC TECHNIQUE). With this method, he performed educational surgeries in many countries abroad (Germany, Greece, Egypt, Romania, Kosovo, Northern Cyprus, Russia, Italy, etc.). He performed live surgery at the World Endourology Congress in 2012. In 2012, he was selected to the European Urology Association Laparoscopic Surgery Training group (ESUT). He received robotic surgery training in France in 2011. After robotic surgery training, he started Robotic Prostate Cancer Surgery in 2011. In 2012, Intuitive Surgical gave him the Da Vinci Robotic Surgery Consultant Physician title. He started working as an international trainer in robotic surgery. He started the HoLEP method in Turkey after training in Italy in 2015. In 2016, he was accepted to London-based Holmium Academy and selected as one of 32 mentors in the world. He received the Professor title in 2016 while working at Gazi University Urology Department. Currently serves as Professor at Acibadem University and Head of Prostate Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment Center, Acibadem Ankara Hospital.
