Professional Journey
Prof. Dr. Nazan Yılmaz was born in Antalya in 1984. After completing primary and secondary education in Antalya, she received medical education at Karadeniz Teknik University Faculty of Medicine from 2002-2008. In 2009, she started specialty training at Ankara Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital Dermatology and Venereology Clinic. In 2011, she studied dermoscopy at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine Dermatology Department, and in 2012, she worked on dermoscopy and skin cancers at Graz University, Austria.
After fulfilling her state service obligation at Doç. Dr. Mustafa Kalemli Tavşanlı State Hospital from 2013-2015, she began her academic life at Bezmialem Faculty of Medicine in 2015. After earning the right to receive a competency certificate by passing the Turkish Dermatology Association Board exam in 2016, she became an assistant associate professor in the same year.
She participated in many national and international education/certificate programs on Dermatology and Dermatocosmetology and served as an educator. She received her associate professorship title in 2018. Between 2022-2023, she served as a dermatologist at Ulus Liv Hospital. In 2024, she earned the right to receive the professorship title and became the Head of the Dermatology Department at Atlas University.
