Following graduation, she pursued advanced specialty training in orthodontics, beginning her doctoral program at İstanbul University Faculty of Dentistry Orthodontics Department in 2003.
Her doctoral research focused on the important clinical question of how prophylactic topical fluoride applications affect the surface properties and friction forces of nickel-titanium based orthodontic wires. This in vitro investigation provided valuable insights into the interaction between fluoride treatments and orthodontic mechanics, contributing to better understanding of how to optimize orthodontic treatment outcomes while maintaining oral health through fluoride use.
