Prof. Dr. Murat Dede - Gynecologic Oncology Specialist

Prof. Dr. Murat Dede was born in Trabzon and completed his primary, secondary and high school education there. He graduated from Gulhane Military Medical Academy Military Medical Faculty in 1990. Between 1990-1991, he completed his internship training at Gulhane Military Medical Academy. Subsequently, between 1991-1993, he served as a unit physician at Afyon Emirdag Expert Gendarmerie School Command. Between 1993-1997, he completed his specialization training in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Gulhane Military Medical Academy and received the title of Gynecology and Obstetrics specialist. He worked as a specialist physician in the same department between 1997-1999. He then served as Chief Physician of Anittepe Gendarmerie Dispensary for 1 year. In 2000, he was appointed as Assistant Associate Professor to GATA Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Between 2000-2006, he served as assistant associate professor and in 2006 he received the title of Associate Professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics. During this process, while serving as Chief Physician of Van Military Hospital, he received Gynecologic Oncology Robotic Surgery training at Norway Radium Hospital with an ESGO (European Society of Gynecologic Oncology) scholarship. (In this training, he worked together with Prof Dr Mahmut Bilal Sert, one of the pioneers of Robotic Surgery applications in gynecologic oncology in the world). After robotic surgery training, he started working as an Associate Professor in GATA Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2006. In 2011, he became a Gynecologic Oncology Surgery specialist. After his current training, in 2011, following the provision of robotic surgical equipment to Gulhane Military Medical Academy, they organized the Gynecologic Robotic Surgery Symposium as an institution. Between 2013-2017, he served as a board member of SERGS (European Robotic Gynecology Association). In 2016, he received the title of Professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Health Sciences University Gulhane Medical Faculty. He retired from his university position in 2018. Between 2018-2023, he served as a Gynecologic Oncology Surgery specialist at Anadolu Health Center hospital in Kocaeli. He served and helped numerous national and international patients. He is currently serving his patients in his private clinic in Ankara. While practicing his profession, he tries to act in accordance with the golden rule first taught in medical school: Primum non nocere (First, do no harm).
